Japan soon going to introduce new facial recognition system at airports..

If you have already visited Japan before  then it may not be new for us to know that the japan immigration has a very smooth procedure for clearing immigration at airport, where the visitor is recognized by their finger print and eye lid captured by the immigration system. But  last monday japan  made a test for the facial recognition system at two major airports in Tokyo area as a part of efforts to smooth immigration control procedures going into the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The Justice Ministry's Immigration Bureau plans to gather data from 25,000 people in the month-long tests at Narita International Airport near Tokyo and Tokyo International Airport at Haneda to examine the system's capabilities.The bureau is expected to make a conclusion as early as this year on whether the system could be introduced.

East Japan Railway company is about to introduce a new rail "shinkansen" that could provide the high service for the commuters,which has never been provided by any of the train company in Japan.

Dubbed "Toreiyu Tsubasa," the six-car train will make one round trip a day, mainly at weekends, between Fukushima and Shinjo stations--a roughly two-hour journey--on the Yamagata Shinkansen Line starting July 19 for a limited run.

World cup matches viewed in 8K Super Hi-vision technologies in Japan.

A select group of soccer fans have enjoyed watching a World Cup match on an ultra high-definition television at a public viewing event in Tokyo.
The set uses 8K Super Hi-Vision technologies being developed mainly by NHK. It was used to broadcast live a game between Japan and Cote d'Ivoire on Sunday. About 150 people attended the event.
The television features clearer images and more realistic sound. Its display boasts resolution about 16 times higher that of existing high-definition models.

A 330-inch screen was installed at the site, along with about 20 speakers surrounding the audience.

Softbank to sell "Human-like" robot by next year.

Softbank is one of the largest telecom operator in Japan, with rising competition in rival companies,softbank has unveiled it prototype "human-like" machine called Pepper.
Pepper is about 120 cm tall and weights about 28 kg.It uses an "emotional engine" and a cloud-based artificial intelligence system that allows it to analyse gestures, expressions and voice tones.The firm said people could communicate with it "just like they would with friends and family" and it could perform various tasks.The robot is linked to the Internet and can answer questions about weather and other subjects too.
It will go on sale to the public next year for 198,000 yen ($1,930; £1,150)

A Japanese researchers have developed an eyeglass that can track your eye movements and determine how tired or sleepy you are.Moreover it　also allows user to to controll their mobile device with the movement of their eyes.  The product was developed jointly by eyeglass store chain JIN and Tohoku University neuroscientist Ryuta Kawashima.
